Thanks for all the memories. The Yum Yum Shack has officially closed.
Welcome to the Yum Yum Shack, a wonderful restaurant that opened to rave reviews in 2005. The food is superb, prepared with the freshest ingredients available. The menu is impressive with a vast array of mouth watering dishes offering something for everyone, including those with the most discriminating pallet.
Located on Highway 28, just three miles south of the village of Cooperstown, New York, the Yum Yum Shack sits now where an abandoned building once stood. C.I.A. Chef and owner, Dave Neil and his wife Donabeth, had a vision, a vision to create a restaurant in a unique space reminiscent of yesteryear, where restaurants were chef owned and operated, allowing for a special dining experience.
Their vision was realized when the doors were opened to patrons impressed by the quality of food, service and intriguing ambiance. The restaurant is a blend of subtle sophistication and inviting comfortably with its warm color scheme and fireplace perched above the bar. The tables, bar top and mermaids that grace the dining room, were handcrafted by local sculptor Torsten Gipperich from the hundred year old wood that once held the former structure together.
In addition to the main dining room, there is a covered patio area where one can dine during the warm summer evenings while enjoying live music.
The Yum Yum Shack is not to be missed, whether you are a local or visitor to Cooperstown. Come and experience first hand what dining out used to be about. You will be glad you did.
